Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented School Finance Assistant to join their Central Team and support financial operations across an academies trust.
Duties:
- Lead accruals, prepayments, journals, VAT reconciliations, and month/year-end tasks.
- Support budget holders with clear financial insights and compliance advice.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations and maintain audit-ready records.
- Assist internal/external audits with accurate documentation.
- Train new staff and help onboard new schools/teams into finance systems.
- Improve processes through automation and data-driven tools.
About You:
- Strong experience in finance, ideally within an education setting.
- Advanced Excel and financial system skills (Access Workspace, MIS, Microsoft 365).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data.
- Proactive, accurate, and committed to continuous improvement.
- AAT qualification or equivalent.
