  • Recent experience as a Finance Assistant in a school or college
  • Enhanced DBS (preferably on the update service)

Purpose of the Role

You will support the school’s finance team to ensure smooth, accurate financial operations that support teaching and student outcomes. The role focuses on:

  • Supporting budgeting and reporting

Core Responsibilities

  • Purchasing & Expenses
  • Raise and manage purchase orders
  • Process invoices and ensure approvals
  • Handle credit card purchases in line with procedures
  • Sales & Income
    • Raise sales invoices
    • Chase outstanding payments (aged debt)
  • Cash Handling
    • Count and record cash received
    • Assist with banking
  • Financial Administration
    • Monthly bank reconciliations
    • Weekly payment runs
    • Set up new suppliers and carry out checks
    • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Reporting & Budgeting
    • Produce monthly budget reports
    • Support financial decision-making
  • School‑Specific Tasks
    • Manage ParentPay system
    • Administer free school meal vouchers
    • Support stationery stock processes
  • General Duties
    • Monitor finance inboxes and respond to queries
    • Work collaboratively with the wider team
    • Support during staff absences
