Caretaker / Site Manager β€” Location: Crumpsall, Manchester β€” Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (Ongoing) β€” Start Date: ASAP β€” Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive and dependable Caretaker/Site Manager to join a school in the Crumpsall area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running, safety, and general maintenance of the school site. This is a hands‑on role, requiring strong practical skills, good organisation, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school site.
  • Carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and general DIY tasks.
  • Manage and monitor Health & Safety compliance, including fire alarm testing, Legionella checks, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure the site is clean, safe, and operational for pupils and staff.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Support the school with event setup and site logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and compliance activities.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a School Caretaker or Site Manager.
  • Strong maintenance and practical DIY skills.
  • Good understanding of compliance and Health & Safety regulations (e.g., Fire Safety, Legionella).
  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage workload independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must hold a current Enhanced DBS and be available to start immediately.
  • For this role you need to be a UK resident and eligible to work in the UK.
