Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective Computer Science lessons at KS2 (Year 6 only), KS3 & KS4
- Plan, prepare, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to students of varying abilities and additional learning needs
- Differentiating learning to support pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all learners
- Monitor pupil progress and provide targeted support to ensure all students reach their full potential
- Use a trauma-informed and restorative approach to behaviour support within the classroom
- Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of the department
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- The successful candidate will be dynamic, motivated, and passionate about Computer Science education and Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly SEMH.
- Have experience working with, or a strong understanding of, students with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, and other additional learning needs
- Be confident in using positive behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation techniques and restorative practices
- Understand the barriers to learning faced by students with SEMH and be able to adapt teaching approaches accordingly
- Inspire and engage learners of all abilities through creative and flexible teaching methods
- Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills in challenging contexts
- Show commitment to continuous professional development, particularly within SEN/SEMH education
- Exhibit excellent organisational and communication skills
- Maintain a professional, patient, and proactive approach at all times
