Location: West Bromwich
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (Ongoing)
Working Hours: Full-time on a two-week shift rotation:
Week 1 β Early Shift: 6:00am β 2:00pm
Week 2 β Late Shift: 10:30am β 6:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable, proactive, and practical School Caretaker to support the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy school site in West Bromwich. This is a key role within the school community, helping to ensure the premises remain safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will have strong maintenance and DIY skills, take pride in maintaining high standards, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school premises.
- Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
- Ensure the school environment remains clean, safe, and fully operational at all times.
- Liaise with external contractors and oversee works carried out on site.
- Support school functions and events, including room set-up and site logistics.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks and report any issues promptly.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, Facilities Assistant, or in a similar role.
- Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS check is essential.
- Available for an immediate start
