We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands‑on Caretaker to support the day‑to‑day running of a busy school in Wolverhampton. This is a vital role within the school community, ensuring the site remains safe, secure, well‑maintained, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. This position would suit someone with strong practical skills who takes pride in maintaining high standards and can work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance, security, and general operation of the school site
- Carry out minor repairs and general DIY tasks; experience in painting and decorating is desirable but not essential
- Ensure the school environment is clean, safe, and fully operational at all times
- Liaise with external contractors and monitor work carried out on‑site
- Support school events, including setting up rooms and managing site logistics
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and compliance checks
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Manager, or in a similar role
- Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g. fire safety, Legionella)
- Highly organised, reliable, and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
- Enhanced DBS check (essential)
- Available for an immediate start
