We are seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to provide temporary cover for a long-term absence. The successful candidate will support senior leadership with the day‑to‑day financial management of a busy school environment and ensure all financial processes run efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts and budget reports
- Support budget planning, forecasting, and financial monitoring
- Oversee payroll processes and statutory financial returns
- Maintain and monitor financial controls and procedures
- Support year‑end audit preparation and compliance requirements
- Manage purchasing, procurement, and supplier contracts
- Assist with income generation opportunities and funding applications
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards
Essential Requirements
- Previous school finance experience
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate
- Available to start immediately
- Strong financial management and organisational skills
- Experience preparing management accounts and overseeing payroll
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
Desirable
- AAT or accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
- Knowledge of school finance systems including PS Financials and ParentPay
- Experience within the education sector or academy environment
