An ambitious and experienced professional is sought to take on a senior leadership role with responsibility for the financial and operational management of a school foundation. The role works closely with the Head and Governing Body to support strategic development and ensure effective day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance and Accountancy
- Advise on financial strategy and policy
- Prepare and manage budgets in collaboration with senior staff
- Monitor income and expenditure
- Maintain accurate financial records and produce reports in line with SORP
- Manage cash flow forecasting (up to five years)
- Oversee billing and fee collection
- Authorise and process invoices
- Support marketing and development initiatives
- Act as Clerk to Governors
- Ensure compliance with employment law and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement policies
- Oversee insurance provision
- Advise on taxation matters
- Manage property lettings
- Liaise with government bodies and maintain statutory records
- Oversee transport compliance and operations
- Manage school uniform provision
- Oversee maintenance of buildings, utilities, and infrastructure
- Manage maintenance schedules and records
- Coordinate tenders, planning permissions, and contractor relationships
- Ensure upkeep of grounds, drainage, boundaries, and access routes
Person Specification
- Relevant finance qualification with strong strategic and operational experience
- Proven leadership experience in a complex organisation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Working Hours and Benefits
- 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday), with flexibility as required
- 4 weeks’ holiday plus public holidays (increasing to 5 weeks after one year)
