Contract Type: Part-time, Temporary (covering long-term sickness absence – 4 to 6 months)

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:30pm – 5:15pm (Flexible working hours can be considered, provided the school is locked up between 4:30pm and 5:30pm.)

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Site Supervisor to join a school in the Otley area. This hands-on role is vital in ensuring the smooth running, safety, and general maintenance of the school site. The ideal candidate will have strong practical skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for staff and pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school site.
  • Lock and secure the school premises at the end of each day.
  • Carry out minor repairs, general DIY tasks, and gritting when required.
  • Manage and monitor Health & Safety compliance, including fire alarm testing, Legionella checks, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure the site is clean, safe, and fully operational at all times.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Support school events with setup and site logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and compliance activities.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a School Caretaker or Site Supervisor.
  • Strong maintenance and practical DIY skills.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance regulations, including Fire Safety and Legionella procedures.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage workload independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate and be available to start immediately.
