About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, practical, and proactive School Caretaker to join a busy school in Oldbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong maintenance and facilities skills who takes pride in creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the school site, ensuring the premises are well maintained, compliant with health and safety regulations, and fully operational at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the security, maintenance, and general upkeep of the school premises.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
  • Ensure the school grounds and buildings remain safe, clean, and presentable.
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections and report any issues or concerns.
  • Liaise with external contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
  • Assist with the preparation and set-up of rooms and facilities for school events and activities.

About You

  • Previous experience in a caretaker, site management, facilities, or maintenance role.
  • Good practical skills with the ability to undertake a range of minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required.
  • Available to start immediately.
