Teem Recruitment are seeking two Assistant School Site Managers to support the day-to-day running of a welcoming school site in the Milton Keynes area.
Job Purpose
To support the Site Manager in maintaining the school premises to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and security. The role includes caretaking duties, general maintenance and repairs, and key holder responsibilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a designated key holder, responsible for opening and/or closing the site and maintaining site security.
- Support the Site Manager with the maintenance and operation of the school site and services.
- Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, and basic electrical tasks.
- Report and assist with repairs and faults around the premises.
- Assist with caretaking duties such as clearing snow, ice, leaves, and debris to maintain site safety.
- Support planned maintenance, repairs, redecoration, and site improvement works.
- Deputise for the Site Manager when required, including responding to emergency call-outs.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and delivery personnel as requested.
- Undertake regular site and health & safety inspections, reporting concerns promptly.
- Assist with statutory and preventative maintenance checks (e.g. fire safety, electrical checks, asbestos management).
- Carry out porterage duties, including moving furniture, equipment, and handling deliveries.
- Support risk assessments, including those relating to hazardous substances.
- Undertake emergency cleaning duties if required.
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role.
Additional Information
The role involves regular physical activity and occasional exposure to outdoor and manual working conditions. All duties must be carried out in line with health and safety regulations and safeguarding requirements. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times. May be required to support at other school sites on occasion.
