Role Overview
Our client is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Caretaker/Site Manager to support the day-to-day running of a school in Burnage. This is a key role within the school community, ensuring the site is safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will have strong practical skills, a good understanding of health and safety compliance, and the ability to work independently while liaising effectively with staff and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance, security, and operation of the school site
- Carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and general DIY tasks
- Monitor and manage health & safety compliance, including fire alarm testing, Legionella checks, and risk assessments
- Ensure the school environment is clean, safe, and fully operational
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required
- Support school events, including setting up and managing site logistics
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and compliance checks
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker or Site Manager
- Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills
- Good knowledge of health & safety and compliance regulations (e.g. fire safety, Legionella)
- Organised, dependable, and able to manage workload independently
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
- Enhanced DBS check (essential)
- Available to start immediately
