Reports To: Live Experience Manager

Working Hours: Approx. 16 hours per week (flexible)

Place of Work: Thorpe Park with the need to travel to Chessington World of Adventures and LEGOLAND Windsor as required

Job Summary: The Seasonal Wardrobe Assistant will provide services in preparing, maintaining, and organising costumes for the Core offering at Thorpe Park. This role focuses on the hands-on care of costumes, including repairs, alterations, laundry, and general upkeep. The Assistant will work to ensure all costumes are attraction-ready and meet the required quality standards and maintenance requirements.

Key Tasks:

  • Assist with the sourcing, shopping, and preparation of costume items as directed by the Entertainments Management team.
  • Support fittings and alterations, including basic hand and machine sewing.
  • Help with the organisation, labelling, and tracking of costume stock, shoes, wigs, and accessories.
  • Maintain costumes during the season, including washing, drying, steaming, small repairs and auditing.
  • Assist in setting up and packing down wardrobe work areas.
  • Follow instructions from the Entertainments Management team regarding daily and weekly costume maintenance schedules.
  • Keep accurate records of costume use, repairs, and stock movements as required.
  • Support the dressing of performers where needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements in the wardrobe environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Work on any additional costing projects as delegated.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a wardrobe, costume, or theatrical environment preferred but not essential.
  • Basic sewing skills (hand and machine).
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during the Halloween and Holiday seasons.
  • An interest in costume care and presentation.
