THE ROLE

The role of the Location Manager is to lead the location with an entrepreneurial flair, running the business as if it were your own. Ensure the achievement of KPIs by creating an environment of genuine customer connection, maximising sales, and motivating the team to achieve excellence. The role will guide the store to drive sales and service through education and passion for the designs and collections across the brand. Be accountable for spurring the business forward and be an inspirational ambassador of Ted, understanding and promoting the Company’s Mission Statement and Strategy.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

People

  • Display confident leadership, effectively inspiring the team to achieve excellence.
  • Work with integrity and respect for others; create excellent team participation and ensure the team and location are presented to the highest standards.
  • Display a dedicated approach to self-awareness and self-development.
  • Engage and inspire the team to deliver excellent customer service with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development of the team using Ted’s Talent & Development resources.
  • Provide timely support and coaching at all levels.
  • Manage underperformance appropriately, sharing concerns with the Area Manager and People Team.
  • Display high personal motivation and implement effective incentives.
  • Identify recruitment needs proactively and plan for succession.
  • Use company tools for onboarding new team members and new roles.
  • Hold regular management meetings to review business and plan ahead.
  • Stay updated with retail sector trends and initiatives relevant to Ted.

Product

  • Develop and inform team members about current product knowledge.
  • Ensure effective implementation of merchandising, replenishment, and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of current season products, licenses, and exclusive items.
  • Report on product performance and opportunities.

Commercial

  • Maximise sales potential and ensure team delivers TSE expectations.
  • Ensure team delivers GOTFAT both online and offline.
  • Create a strong sales environment based on local market insights.
  • Coach the team in effective sales techniques aligned with brand values.
  • Drive performance to meet targets and KPIs.
  • Manage budgets and controllable costs to meet profit expectations.
  • Lead marketing initiatives within brand guidelines.
  • Capture customer data at PoS and leverage it for CRM.
  • Monitor competitors and local market trends.
  • Develop commercial actions based on actuals, targets, and KPIs.
  • Embrace digital initiatives to enhance selling and brand profile.

Operations

  • Maintain high organization standards and adhere to store procedures.
  • Understand business systems like Teds Vault, AX, and SharePoint.
  • Drive operational KPIs.
  • Manage controllable costs to meet P&L goals.
  • Ensure legal compliance and safety standards are met, taking corrective actions as needed.
