Ted Baker is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Assistant / Junior Garment Technologist with relevant experience to support the technical team in London, ensuring that all garments meet our quality, fit, and construction standards. Working closely with the design, production, and supplier teams, the Assistant / Junior Garment Technologist will assist in the development process from initial sampling through to final production. Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop and expand on their technical skills within a fast-paced fashion environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Garment Technologist with managing the fit and sampling process.
- Help review samples against specifications and comment on construction, measurements, and quality.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical packs and measurement specifications.
- Ensure samples are logged, tracked, and stored correctly.
- Manage a small product area (experience dependent)
Fit & Quality
- Assist in fit sessions and take notes on amendments and technical comments.
- Help measure samples against size specifications.
- Support quality checks on samples and bulk production.
Supplier Communication
- Assist in communicating technical comments and fit amendments to suppliers and factories.
- Follow up on sample approvals and ensure timelines are met.
- Help monitor production sample progress and help manage Critical Path.
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate records of samples, approvals, and technical comments.
- Update internal systems and product development trackers.
- Assist in organising sample rails and development boards.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Design, Production, and Buying teams to support the product development process.
- Provide general administrative support to the Technical team when required.

Requirements
- 1 year's experience at a minimum level of Garment Technologist Admin Assistant / Assistant Garment Technologist.
- Degree or qualification in Fashion Technology, Garment Technology, or Fashion Design
- Understanding of garment construction and fabrics.
- Basic knowledge of fit, grading, and measurement specifications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills when working with internal teams and suppliers.
Beneficial
- Knowledge of Excel, PLM systems, or technical specification software.
- Experience measuring garments and participating in fit sessions.
