Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, with some variation between day and night working week-on-week. Some weekend work will be required.

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Additional earnings: Overtime, commission, referral bonuses.

Job Overview: TECS Group is a specialist provider of Water Hygiene and Legionella Control Services, facilities management, planned and reactive building maintenance, and consultancy services across the UK. We are excited to announce the launch of our new Air Hygiene division, expanding our services to include kitchen extraction and general ventilation/AHU cleaning, as well as fire damper drop testing. As part of this expansion, we are currently seeking a Lead Air Hygiene Engineer to support the delivery of safe and effective planned and reactive maintenance across various client premises, ensuring continued compliance of our current and future customers.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Kitchen extract and general ventilation system cleaning in accordance with TR19.
  • Ensure service sheets and documentation are completed and issued on time.
  • Inspection of the fire dampers in accordance with BS:9999.
  • Installation of access doors into ventilation system in accordance with DW144.
  • Undertake ventilation hygiene surveys and indoor air quality surveys.
  • Ensure that all communication channels are utilised to keep both the client and TECS Group informed of relevant information.
  • Work safely and follow company health and safety regulations to ensure safety of yourself, colleagues, customers and visitors.
  • Take full responsibility and ownership of all assigned tasks.
  • Be proactive in reporting faults to equipment, buildings and fittings.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in this client-facing role and ensure excellent client relationships are sustained.

In addition, there will be a requirement to utilise your technical knowledge and expertise to provide support to the Air Division, including its projects and operational activities. This will be in an advisory capacity in the first instance, whilst you familiarise yourself with our systems and values.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A technical qualification or proven equivalent training and experience in an Air Hygiene/Commercial Cleaning role is essential.
  • A technical qualification or proven equivalent training and experience in Fire Damper Testing and maintenance.
  • Good technical knowledge as well as the ability to multitask.
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in either Ductwork Installation or Fire and Smoke Control Systems.
  • BESA approved, formal fire damper testing training.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workloads.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required.
  • Willingness and ability to work as a member of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000 to £35,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Additional pay: In addition to your base salary, you shall be eligible to participate in the Company’s market-leading commission scheme, subject to the terms of the scheme in place from time to time. Any commission payable in respect of additional works shall be shared between you and the Account Manager. Commission payments shall only become due once the relevant customer invoice has been paid in full to the Company.

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Night shift, Overtime, Weekend availability.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years industry experience.
