The predicted salary is between 75000 - 85000 Β£ per year.
We are recruiting for an experienced and driven Head of Projects to lead and develop a high-performing Projects team based in London. This is a senior leadership role responsible for identifying new project opportunities, supporting tendering activity, and ensuring the successful delivery of Mechanical & Electrical projects. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven background in project delivery, commercial management, and client relationship development. Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and direct support to the Projects team.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Deliver projects within agreed budgets and timeframes to maximise profit and client satisfaction.
- Identify, assess, and manage all commercial and regulatory risks associated with projects.
- Maintain a strong customer-focused environment and manage key client relationships.
- Support the sales pipeline through business development and identification of new work opportunities.
- Lead project tendering, negotiation, and specification activities.
- Provide financial reviews and forecasts to senior management.
- Ensure all projects comply with company and client QSHE policies and procedures.
- Manage and oversee subcontractors, ensuring contractual terms are aligned wherever possible.
- Ensure projects are resourced with fully competent teams and take responsibility for key appointments.
- Complete performance reviews, appraisals, and training plans for direct reports.
- Manage holiday and sickness records for direct reporting staff.
- Ensure all correspondence is accurate, timely, and professionally presented.
- Use technical expertise to deliver best-value and sustainable solutions for clients.
- Attend relevant internal and external training, seminars, and industry events.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial and commercial management within an operational leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar positions delivering Mechanical & Electrical projects (Β£100k - Β£1.5m).
- Strong experience managing specialist subcontractors.
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or Air Conditioning Engineering.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Right to work in the UK.
