Job Summary
If you have a strong background in electrical or mechanical building services maintenance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. A leading facilities management provider is looking to recruit an experienced Shift Engineer to join their engineering team at a critical pharmaceutical site in Cambridge. Working as part of a large on-site engineering team, you'll carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure critical building services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical or mechanical systems
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs across building services plant and equipment
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and fault-finding activities
- Maintain HVAC, pumps, motors, lighting, power, and associated building services equipment
- Complete maintenance records using CAFM systems
- Respond to breakdowns and support critical site operations
- Ensure all work complies with health safety procedures and statutory regulations
- Work closely with engineers, contractors, and site teams to deliver high service standards
Requirements
- Recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification (City Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
- Previous experience within facilities management, commercial building services, or a similar maintenance environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience maintaining mechanical and/or electrical plant and equipment
- Full right to work in the UK
