Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Fabric Engineer to join their engineering team in Basildon, Essex.You'll play a key role in maintaining the fabric of a large commercial site, carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure the building remains safe, compliant, and presented to a high standard.Working within a fast-paced maintenance environment, you'll be responsible for a wide variety of building fabric repairs, supporting the smooth operation of the site while delivering high-quality workmanship.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive building fabric repairsComplete general carpentry, painting and decorating, patch plastering, and minor brickwork repairsRepair doors, locks, hinges, door closers, ceilings, partitions, flooring, and windowsCarry out minor plumbing repairs, including replacing taps, toilets, pipework, and sanitary fittingsPerform basic mechanical maintenance and assist engineering teams where requiredComplete minor installation and refurbishment works across the siteDiagnose defects and carry out repairs to internal and external building fabricMaintain accurate maintenance records using the site's maintenance management system (CMMS)Liaise with contractors and colleagues to ensure work is completed safely and efficientlyEnsure all work complies with health & safety procedures and company policiesRequirementsPrevious experience as a Fabric Engineer, Building Maintenance Engineer, Handyperson, or Multi-Skilled EngineerExperience carrying out carpentry, painting, decorating, plumbing, and general building fabric maintenanceGood understanding of commercial building maintenance and facilities managementAbility to work independently and manage a varied workloadFull right to work in the UKWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary of £35,000 £40,000 per annumMonday to Friday rotating shift patternExcellent opportunity to join a well-established facilities maintenance teamOngoing training, development, and career progression opportunitiesStable, long-term position with a reputable employerIf you live in and around Basildon, Billericay, Wickford, Rayleigh, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Benfleet, Canvey Island, Stanford-le-Hope, Grays, Southend-on-Sea, Romford, or the surrounding areas , this could be the role for you.Apply today and help us shape the future!
