To be part of the engineering team supporting the production, buying and service departments, answering queries and updating product information. To provide practical ‘hands on’ assistance on special projects and prototypes.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Design and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Maintain engineering records, drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Provide technical support to production, purchasing, sales and service teams.
  • Support product modifications, design changes and engineering documentation control.
  • Assist with prototype build, testing and fault finding.
  • Support factory build and test activities.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant standards and directives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, quality and cost reduction initiatives.

Overview

  • Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
  • Hours: 37 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon–Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak)
  • Contract: Permanent, full time.

Requirements

  • HNC or level 4 in electrical / electronic related subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in design of panel wired systems
  • Knowledge of electrical protection and coordination principles
  • Experience implementing Variable Frequency Drives
  • Experience selecting electrical components, including switches, relays, contactors and wiring
  • Understanding of logic and relay logic systems
  • Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
  • Basic understanding of electronic systems (opamp, power supplies, ADC etc)
  • Understands key EMC principals
  • Ability to manage multiple task and meet deadlines
  • Highly organized, proactive and methodical
  • Reliable team player who enjoys working cross-functionally and can also work independently
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-620 standards
  • Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP Business one
  • Knowledge of CE/UKCA compliance requirements
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Adaptable and comfortable with handling complex queries
