Position description

TECOSIM is expanding our dynamic Engineering team in the UK as part of our ongoing growth. We are looking for a talented Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our Clients team based in Royal Leamington Spa. This role would best suit someone who has theoretical vehicle dynamics experience and ADAMS/Car knowledge.

Simulation & Modelling

  • Develop and refine full-vehicle and subsystem models using MSC ADAMS/Car or ADAMS/View for multi-body dynamics analysis.
  • Calibrate models against test data and ensure correlation accuracy for use in performance prediction and system tuning.

Ride, Handling & Stability Analysis

  • Analyse vehicle ride comfort, steering feel, lateral/longitudinal dynamics, and transient handling behaviour across a range of operating conditions.
  • Conduct sensitivity studies and performance trade-off analysis to guide suspension geometry and chassis tuning.

Chassis & Suspension Development

  • Support design and virtual validation of suspension (passive and semi-active), steering, and braking systems.
  • Conduct Kinematics and Compliance (K&C) studies to assess bushing stiffness, camber/toe curves, and compliance steer.

Active System Integration

  • Collaborate with controls and systems engineering teams to model and evaluate the performance of active chassis systems, including: Active damping systems (e.g., CDC, semi-active dampers), active roll control and anti-roll systems, rear-wheel steering and active front steering, torque vectoring systems and differential control.
  • Perform scenario-based simulation to assess control strategies and system-level impact on vehicle dynamics.

Performance & Benchmarking

  • Define and support vehicle performance targets related to ride, handling, and drivability.
  • Benchmark competitor vehicles using both simulation data and physical testing to establish performance baselines.

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Summarise findings and recommendations through detailed engineering reports and presentations.
  • Interface directly with OEM customers, test teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with program goals.

Skills required

  • Strong Theoretical vehicle dynamics knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle Tuning techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of Calibration techniques and software used in Automotive.
  • Good understanding of K&C axle data, Vehicle Dynamics Metrics, Targets and Testing.

Experience required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Vehicle dynamics.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.

Additional Information

  • Hybrid Working available.
  • Multiple roles available.
