Our Teconnex site is now recruiting for an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead and develop our engineering function across a global organisation operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments. The role leads a team of 8 and is responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary engineering activities across Product Design & Development, Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Engineering Support Functions. In addition to leading local engineering teams, you will operate as a global technical authority, driving alignment, governance, engineering standards, and best practice across international subsidiaries.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and deliver engineering strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Drive engineering excellence across product development, industrialisation, and project delivery
  • Develop and implement global engineering standards, processes, and governance frameworks
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring delivery to quality, cost, and timing targets
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across international engineering teams
  • Align engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices globally
  • Manage engineering risk, validation, APQP, PPAP, and change management processes
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Coach and develop engineering capability across the organisation
  • Support innovation, technology roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive engineering leadership experience within automotive, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of product development, design engineering, project engineering, and manufacturing processes
  • Proven ability to lead complex engineering programmes and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, structured product development, and engineering governance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and organisational capability development
  • Familiarity with standards such as IATF 16949 and/or AS9100

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within global or multi-site engineering organisations
  • Experience supporting organisational transformation or restructuring
  • Exposure to product strategy or technology roadmap development
  • Project management qualifications
  • Membership of a recognised engineering institution (e.g. IMechE)

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
