At FDB (First Databank), we create and deliver the worlds most trusted drug knowledge, enabling healthcare professionals to make critical decisions that improve patient safety, efficiency, and outcomes. Our solutions are embedded across hospitals, GP practices, pharmacies, and wider healthcare systems, supporting millions of patients every day. Our values guide everything we do: Better Together, Clear Expectations, Constantly Curious, and Health at the Heart.

We’re looking for a motivated individual to join us as an HR Advisor on a permanent, part-time basis, ideally up to 22.5 hours per week. This is a terrific opportunity to join our purpose-driven organisation, where your expertise truly matters, and you can shape positive, people-centred experiences across the full employee lifecycle. This role offers flexibility to balance meaningful HR work with life outside of work. This is a hybrid role with attendance at the Exeter office required 2 days per week. For those looking for your next step up, you will be fully supported to complete your CIPD qualifications with the aim of becoming a Chartered Member.

As an HR Advisor, you will deliver a comprehensive, generalist HR service, supporting employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle. You will be a trusted partner to managers and be the first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear advice, guidance and coaching on people matters. You will manage the resolution of day-to-day employee relations issues and support more complex cases, whilst also coordinating core HR activities such as recruitment, performance processes, pay and benefits cycles, and learning and development.

Additionally, you will:

  • Maintain and update the HR database
  • Monitor employee records
  • Contribute to HR projects, transformation initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Support training and development activity
  • Ensure HR policies and practices remain aligned with organisational strategy, employment legislation and best practice

You will receive excellent support and development opportunities, and we are interested in hearing from HR professionals looking for their next step up into an Advisory role.

To be considered as an HR Advisor, you will need:

  • Previous experience of working in an HR generalist environment, this does not necessarily have to be at an HR Advisor level
  • Experience of dealing with simple employee relations cases and supporting more complex cases
  • Knowledge of UK Employment Law and the full range of HR policies and procedures
  • You will be motivated to work towards your full CIPD qualification and Chartered Membership
  • You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work with employees on a wide variety of topics
  • You will also need to be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and HR Systems

You will be joining a very supportive team where you will have the opportunity to grow and develop new skills. In addition, FDB offers:

  • Competitive salary
  • 25 working days holiday per annum plus statutory holidays (pro-rata)
  • Flexible option for employees to take additional holiday
  • Annual company bonus scheme
  • Health and Wellbeing allowance
  • HealthShield flexible health cash-back scheme
  • Electric Vehicle scheme
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Charity days
  • Full flexible working
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity schemes
  • and many more!

Other organisations may call this role Human Resources Advisor, People Advisor, Employee Relations Advisor, ER Advisor, People Services Advisor, Senior HR Co-ordinator, HR Officer, or Human Resources Officer.
