Roles and Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the operating and setting of the Robot Cell.
- Be responsible for setting and operating 3-axis Vertical Machining Centre (VMC’s) if required.
- Be responsible for setting and operating 5-axis Universal Machining Centres (UMC’s) if required.
- Work with a variety of materials including aluminium, carbon fibre, and epoxy tool boards.
- Work closely with the rest of the machine shop and composite team to ensure goods are delivered on time, and to schedule.
- Work closely with the machine shop team on the daily upkeep of the department, and maintenance of equipment.
- Be responsible for the cutting and preparing of materials.
- Be responsible for deburring and manually finishing parts.
- Be responsible for the manual preparation of parts.
- Assist TECNIQ’s in-house training program by training apprentices and other team members where required.
Skills Required
- Possess a strong engineering background.
- Possess a good understanding of HAAS, or FANUC controls to be able to set tools, work offsets, and adjust tool offsets where required.
- Innovative in their approach to problem-solving.
- Be forward-thinking in their approach to ensure continuous improvement towards the best solution for production products is driven into all work.
- Approach all work in a way that ensures the finest quality output, employing necessary checks along the way.
- Be an effective and motivated team player, able to work both closely with others and in a self-guided capacity.
- Possess a flexible approach adaptable to changing requirements at short notice.
- Have good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including the ability to read engineering drawings and create detailed set-up documentation.
- Have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

- Maintain the ability and maturity to give and receive feedback constructively and negotiate with colleagues harmoniously.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a setter/operator role is essential.
- Previous setting and operating experience of CNC machines.
- Experience with HAAS or Fanuc controls.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an automotive or aerospace environment.
- Experience with KUKA robots or other brand robots would be an advantage.
Additional Information
- Role Type: Full Time
- Salary: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
- Shift Information: Sunday: 20:30 – 07:00, Monday to Thursday: 23:00 – 07:00
- Overtime: Overtime is available dependent upon the successful completion of probation period and the requirements of the business.
- Holiday allowance: 20 days plus bank holidays
