The Finance Business Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business decision‐making within a design, development and manufacturing environment. This role works closely with finance, project management, engineering, operations, production and procurement to provide financial insights, cost analysis, budgeting support, and performance monitoring to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and long‐term financial plans.
- Conduct variance analysis (budget vs. actuals) and provide actionable insights.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Manufacturing & Cost Analysis
- Analyse production costs, material usage, labour efficiency, and overhead allocation.
- Monitor standard costs and investigate variances.
- Support inventory valuation and cost control initiatives.
- Evaluate cost‐saving opportunities and process improvements.
Business Performance Monitoring
- Maintain regular KPI across the business.
- Support programme reporting and profitability.
- Prepare dashboards and management reports.
- Provide financial modelling for new projects, capital investments, and capacity / sourcing decisions.
Data Analysis & Systems
- Ensure data integrity and improve financial reporting processes.
- Automate reports and enhance financial tools using Excel or BI software.
Cross‐Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency.
- Support procurement with supplier cost analysis.
- Work with programmes teams on margin analysis and project bids.
- Provide ad‐hoc analysis to management as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- 3–7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information to non‐finance stakeholders.
