Job Description
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team delivering design, engineering, and manufacturing solutions for some of the world’s most exclusive and ultra-premium car programmes.
We are looking for an experienced engineer to oversee our rapidly growing development of press work, therefore knowledge of both pre-preg carbon fibre capabilities and press tooling would be advantageous.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement and maintain robust jigs, fixtures, manufacturing and assembly tooling with an eye for detail and repeatability
- Design fixtures/tooling for the assembly and manufacturing of components
- Support the planning, installation, commissioning, try-out and develop for production new tools and equipment
- Develops and optimises new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products
- Provide technical launch support for car build (prototype and production) at customers site
- Liaise with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Customer teams
- Represent the department in engineering design reviews and during test and development activities if required
- Provide support to the team, offering technical guidance and advice when needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Have extensive experience of Automotive product / tooling development and design
- Experienced in Design of Experiments (Taguchi methodology etc…) and the optimisation of manufacturing processes
- Six Sigma Black Belt, desirable
- Be proficient in root cause analysis
- Having knowledge of tool, jig and fixture design and manufacture is essential
- Experience in press tools and injection moulding desirable
- Possess knowledge of carbon lay-up, desirable
- Have experience in the development of Digital Mock Up / Design for Manufacture best practice
- Be able to develop and scheme both parts and tool designs
- Be competent in maintaining a flexible and adaptable approach to changing requirements at short notice
- Have use of MS Office suite, VisMockup, Catia V5
- Maintain a professional, accountable, proactive, and helpful attitude at all times
- Maintain the ability and maturity to give and receive feedback constructively and negotiate with colleagues harmoniously
Experience
- Master’s level of understanding in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical engineering discipline
- Substantial experience in the automotive sector, preferably within the area of interiors
- Have solid experience in the continual use of Catia V5 as a manufacturing tool in a similar role
Additional Information
Working pattern. Monday to Friday, 8am until 4:30pm
Overtime. Is occasionally available (dependent upon successfully completing probation and the requirements of the business).
Salary. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience
