About Tecna UK

At Tecna UK, we're all about turning ideas into exceptional experiences. We create more than just stunning displays - we deliver world-class service, ensuring every project is flawlessly executed from concept to completion. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a hands-on, eager-to-learn Trainee Operations Technician to join our Operations Team at our Farnborough HQ.

The Role

This is no ordinary entry-level position. Over the course of a structured 12-month training programme, you'll build a solid grounding across every area of our operations - from warehouse and production through to on-site stand installation. Once trained, you'll be a genuinely flexible member of the team, deployed where the business needs you most: jumping onto a large beam-cutting run, supporting a pre-build in the warehouse, or heading out to install a stand on-site. If you love variety, take pride in your work, and want to develop a broad set of practical skills in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

What You'll Learn and Do

  • Warehouse Operations: Picking, packing, loading, and unloading stock and rental items, including T3 framework, AV equipment, and furniture. Preparing equipment for dispatch and checking items on return, including cleaning, testing, and condition reporting. Maintaining accurate stock records, completing paperwork, and recording any losses or damages. Managing goods in and out, and keeping rental stock organised and ready for use.
  • Production: Chopping aluminium beams and plastic profile to specification using workshop machinery. Assembling components and supporting the pre-building of exhibition stands. Working from technical drawings and instructions to produce accurate, well-finished output. Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and well-organised at all times.
  • Stand Installation: Installing and dismantling exhibition stands on-site, working as part of the installations team. Preparing all elements of a build ahead of time, including loading and unloading vans. Ensuring all paperwork and on-site processes are completed accurately. Occasional travel within the UK and potentially internationally as experience grows.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: A practical, hands-on mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Good knowledge of hand tools and a willingness to develop machinery skills. Thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment. Proactive problem solver with a sharp eye for detail. Able to use initiative and stay calm under pressure. Reliable, punctual, and professional in approach. Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Desirable: Any prior experience in a warehouse, production, or events/exhibitions environment. Familiarity with Monday.com or similar platforms. Basic competency with Microsoft Office.

What You'll Get

  • A structured development programme giving you broad, transferable skills across warehouse, production, and installation.
  • Comprehensive BUPA healthcare cover.
  • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays).
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Regular company events.
  • Paid days for charity work and community projects.
