Teckels Animal Sanctuaries is a small, independent charity located in Whitminster, Gloucestershire. Since 2003, Teckels has been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming homeless cats and dogs, many of whom have faced difficult pasts or whose owners can no longer care for them. Each year, we care for around 250 cats and 150 dogs, and we maintain a non-destruction policy, ensuring every animal has the chance for a happy life. Beyond rehoming efforts, Teckels operates a non-profit boarding facility to help fund its rescue work. Our valuable mission is supported by the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and supporters, whom we deeply appreciate.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Stroud for a Charity Shop Manager. The Charity Shop Manager will oversee the daily operations of our charity shop, which helps to fund Teckels' rescue efforts. Tasks include managing store staff and volunteers, achieving sales targets, maintaining the shopβs appearance, ensuring high levels of customer service, and organizing donated goods. The Manager will also be responsible for promoting the shop within the local community to increase donations and sales.
Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE or above standard or equivalent.
- Good standard of Maths and English.
- Strong team worker with the ability to motivate a team.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and that of staff and volunteers.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Customer focused with an energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
- Experience of managing a busy retail environment.
- Experience of managing staff and dealing effectively with associated issues.
