Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is seeking experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join our expanding school nursing team. About the Role
This role supports children and families across the Shropshire region through public health education, health promotion, and multi-agency collaboration. You will work Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with flexible working patterns including term-time contracts to support your work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver health education and public health promotion under the guidance of nurses and practitioners
- Travel to schools, homes, and community sites across Whitchurch and central Shropshire
- Work closely with vulnerable individuals and multi-agency partners
- Provide consistent, evidence-based health information to families
- Support the delivery of the 0–19 Healthy Child Programme
Requirements
- Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
- Significant experience working with children in community settings
- Ability to communicate effectively with different age groups
- Knowledge of child development and child protection
- IT skills and ability to apply public health knowledge to practice
- Access to your own vehicle for work-related travel
- Desirable:
- Understanding of the Healthy Child Programme
- Experience managing children’s behaviour and engaging families in care decisions
