What You’ll Do
- Deliver direct care and emotional support to older residents
- Collaborate with senior staff to follow individual care plans
- Help residents maintain independence and quality of life
- Support and coordinate staff to ensure smooth daily care operations
- Respect and promote residents’ rights, choices, and privacy
- Maintain records in line with care regulations and procedures
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Values
- Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults or older people
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken English)
- Deep respect for dignity, diversity, and individual choice
- Understanding of health and safety requirements in care settings

Qualifications & Requirements
- SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to undertake – training and fees covered by Glasgow City Council)
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting
- Membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme (required at appointment – cost borne by candidate)
- Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Scotland)
Note: SSSC fees are currently waived under the local government pay deal.
