NHS Dietitian Band 6 – Visa Sponsorship Available
We are looking for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Band 6 Senior Dietitian to join a proactive Nutrition and Dietetic Team at an NHS Trust in the North West of the United Kingdom. This role offers the opportunity to provide a professional and high standard dietetic service for critical care and surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work autonomously to provide specialist dietetic advice to patients, their carers, and staff within agreed protocols and guidelines.
- Carry out nutritional assessments, including the interpretation of biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical condition, and diet history to determine nutritional problems.
- Develop treatment plans, which includes the calculation of nutritional requirements and discharge planning.
- Be clinically competent to give specialist dietetic advice, treatment, and dietary counseling to patients in various settings.
- Communicate nutrition and dietetic information to staff, clients, and carers, using negotiation, persuasion, motivation, and counselling skills.
- Liaise with colleagues and other members of hospital staff as necessary (e.g., medical, nursing, catering, and other health professionals).
- Actively participate in practice supervision, continued professional development, and student training.
- Participate in audits, service development, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Relevant clinical dietetic experience, including artificial nutrition support.
- Experience in educating, training, or presenting to patient groups and staff.
- Experience in the clinical supervision of dietetic students.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to act as part of a team and cope with a varying work load.
- A valid HCPC (Health & Care Professionals Council) registration.
- For overseas AHP Professionals, you must have an IELTS (7.5 with 7.0 in each module) or OET Exam Grade ‘B’ Overall.
- Pay Rate: £Negotiable (dependent on experience, ranging from £31,365 to £38,890 per annum).
- Duration: This is a fixed-term (12 months with extension) or permanent position.
- Tier 2 Sponsorship: Applications from Health & Care Professionals who require a Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all EU and UK-trained professionals with appropriate experience. The relevant paperwork will be issued upon appointment if required.
