Job Description Summary
This position gives you the opportunity to develop the next generation of Propellers for highly efficient aeroengines. You will lead mechanical design, working on a broad range of projects, from new product introduction to manufacturing- and service support. You will drive product innovation and the continuous improvement of design processes. You will have direct access to a new state-of-the art manufacturing facility allowing short development cycles. You will lead cost-out and LEAN initiatives, working closely with Procurement and Operations.

Responsibilities
- Own key design work packages across several NPI programmes and Integrated Product Teams.
- Introduce mods and amendments in support of in-service requests, ongoing production and repair operations.
- With project managers, contribute to the estimation (scope, time, cost) of assigned work packages.
- Manage requirements and specifications.
- Identify opportunities to improve system\’ and component\’ attributes (i.e. efficiency, noise, weight, stress, manufacturability, cost).
- Generate and release designs with supporting analyses (DfM & DfA, cost, preliminary stress & dynamics).
- Manage risk assessments (incl. DFMEA / PFMEA).
- Support development and V&V activities (incl. rig and flight test).
- Support plant\’ objectives through daily interaction with Operations.
- Lead the continuous improvement of design processes and workflows (CAD, CAE, PLM). Identify and document design best practices.
- Lead and mentor other staff and trainees.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Mechanical engineering degree, aerospace engineering degree or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design, incl. integration of large assemblies and configuration management.
- Demonstrable experience of design for manufacture and assembly.
- Existing signatory status for CAD and drawings release (ASME Y14.5 GD&T).
- Existing signatory status for concessions and technical variances approval.
- Expert knowledge of Catia, Creo or NX.
Desired
- Ability to Lead Integrated Product Teams.
- Experience of design and CAE analysis of rotating machinery.
- Integration of electro-mechanical machines and actuators.
- Experience of PTC Windchill.
