I.T. and Data Processor Responsibilities

  • Update offers, pricing and news bulletins on promotions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Input all receipts and daily paperwork from suppliers and customers into our systems, maintaining an organised and efficient database.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline data processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff as needed.
  • Maintain Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, ensuring functionality and reliability of hardware and software components.
  • Provide timely technical support to store staff, diagnose and resolve hardware or software problems, minimise downtime, and ensure uninterrupted operations; implement and maintain robust security measures (antivirus, firewalls, encryption), maintain backup procedures and develop data recovery plans.
  • Oversee inventory-related data entry tasks, including updating records, tracking stock levels and generating reports on product sales and trends using appropriate software systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the store's network infrastructure, including routers, switches and access points, to ensure reliable connectivity for POS systems and other devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, procedures and configurations, and generate reports on key performance indicators and metrics related to IT and data processing activities to support decision‑making and compliance efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree or further education in IT or related fields preferred.
  • Previous experience in data processing or a similar role (including IT experience).
  • Familiarity and keen interest in various IT and data processing software.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in database management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
