Limes Medical Centre is currently seeking a qualified Healthcare Assistant to join their team. Candidates requiring visa sponsorship are welcome to apply.
Limes Medical Centre is looking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic, and hard-working Healthcare Assistant for 34 hours a week.
You will be working with other healthcare professionals to provide a first-class service, as well as liaising with our admin team.
We have a site in Alfreton as well as in Blackwell, a 5-minute drive away, and cross-working is required.
The post holder works under the indirect supervision of the practice nurse lead and undertakes tasks and duties delegated by the practice nurse lead or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures while providing supervision to more junior staff.
Main Duties
- To undertake all duties in line with the training and instruction provided by the Nurses and General Practitioners.
- Assistance at clinics, setting up and supporting clinicians, and ensuring patient care by chaperoning and assisting patients to dress and undress. Wound dressing, patient health checks, blood pressure monitoring, and conducting weight and height measurements.
- Provide assistance in minor operations and coil fittings ensuring patient care by chaperoning.
- Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples. Undertake ECGs and NHS Health Checks.
- Ear syringing and giving Influenza/B12 injections according to protocols. Ensure adequate infection control procedures in treatment and consulting rooms.
- Ensure adequate stock levels in stock room, treatment rooms, fridges, and cupboards. Ordering medical supplies and checking/recording and storage of supplies on receipt. Inputting of information onto SystmOne.
- Ensure the safe storage, recording, rotation, and disposal of vaccines. Fridge temperature logging and reporting cold chain issues as necessary.
- Any other duties as directed by the Clinical Team Leaders, GPs, or HR/Operational Managers.
Qualifications
- Qualified in Phlebotomy
- GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths
- Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
Experience (Essential)
- Experience of working in a nursing team within General practice
- Understanding of healthcare in your role
- Knowledge of SystmOne
