Job Overview: Borderless is a fast‑growing digital platform dedicated to removing barriers to international migration. Since 2023, we have streamlined the UK sponsorship process for thousands of individuals and hundreds of businesses. Backed by Entrepreneur First and Backed.VC, we are now scaling our operations and looking for an experienced leader to head our Immigration function. The role is Immigration Team Lead, reporting directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Performance: Lead, coach, develop a high‑performance team of 10 caseworkers and immigration professionals; manage hiring, onboarding, and training as the department scales; conduct performance reviews, stand‑ups, case reviews, and career development planning.
- Delivery, Quality and Compliance: Own casework delivery standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness; implement QA processes, track SLA adherence, approval rates, and CSAT; serve as the final escalation point for complex, high‑risk, or urgent cases.
- Operational Ownership: Manage resource allocation and workload balancing; partner with Product and Engineering teams to automate manual tasks; maintain and update SOPs, playbooks, and training materials.
Candidate Requirements
- 8+ years in immigration law, focused on Skilled Worker visas.
- 4+ years of team management (lawyers, caseworkers, or paralegals).
- Minimum Qualified L1 IAA (or equivalent).
- Startup mindset – experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth startup environment.
- Technical proficiency: modern case‑management platforms, G‑Suite, Intercom.
- Analytical skills: metrics tracking, capacity planning, workflow design.
