By providing expertise and insight, we support our members, partners and stakeholders as they prepare the UK for what comes next in a constantly changing world.
We are looking for a Junior Programme Manager to support our Financial Services and SME Engagement programmes, key areas at the heart of the UK’s economic growth ambitions.
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for financial services, SMEs, public policy and business development. As Junior Programme Manager, you will provide support to help deliver the work of techUK’s Financial Services Council and Digital Assets Working Group, alongside various ad hoc member driven projects. These groups play a central role in shaping connections between the technology, financial services, retail, hospitality and travel and tourism sectors.
You will work closely with leading companies providing critical technologies to the UK financial services sector and assist tech start-ups and scale-ups understand and explore opportunities in retail and hospitality, two of the UK’s biggest industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the delivery of our Financial Services and SME Engagement programme activities, including working groups, roundtables and consultations
- Assist in the delivery of activity to help our member companies engage with and develop solutions for the financial services sector
- Aid in the delivery of ad hoc projects as defined by our members, including leading on a project on embedded finance
- Help develop content such as briefings, blogs, member updates, and insight reports
- Assist in managing relationships with key stakeholders across industry, government, and other relevant trade associations
- Facilitate event delivery, including speaker coordination and logistics, and work closely with techUK marketing team to ensure necessary promotion of events
- Opportunity to write articles, insights and analytical pieces on techUK website, as well as to develop your own projects and initiatives by working closely with member companies
- Provide ad hoc support to the Head of Financial Services and the Head of SME Engagement when needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Strong interest in technology and financial services industry trends, particularly at the intersection between the two sectors
- Ability and drive to identify new areas of member interest and drive the delivery of activity in that area, both independently and collaboratively by working with colleagues across techUK
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- A proactive, can-do attitude and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Interest in current affairs, financial services, economics and technology
Desired knowledge and experience
- Prior knowledge of financial technology, technology, the challenges companies face as they scale and industry trends
- Experience working on or supporting events, briefings or public policy initiatives
- Familiarity with the UK’s financial services and technology landscapes
- Interest in how the technology sector can better support the financial services sector
Additional Information
This is a full time role based out of techUK’s London offices, however techUK operates a flexible working policy.
This role profile is a guide to the work that is required but does not form part of any contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.
The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK prior to the commencement of employment.
The salary range for this role is £28,000-£33,000 per annum based upon experience plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
