The role involves curating success for creators on Nanogram, ensuring they improve, stay engaged, and attract others. You will identify the most passionate creators and help them excel, understanding the factors that lead to successful game engagement.
Your responsibilities include nurturing creators towards monetization, as we plan to introduce creator monetization soon. This requires weeks of support to ensure that Nanogram becomes a creator's primary hobby, making monetization feel natural.
You will build and enhance the community, currently hosted on Discord, and take ownership of the user experience there. In the long term, you will host significant game jams that extend beyond our user base.
As the voice of the user and the brand, you will communicate user needs to the product team while also representing Nanogram to the creators. Collaboration with a full-time content creator will be essential to promote the brand on social media and turn game jams into engaging videos.
What you bring:
- Experience in building a brand or product community from scratch, demonstrating growth alongside a product that gained real traction.
- Product literacy, ideally from an app team, allowing you to filter user feedback effectively.
- Experience in creator development, having improved individual creators' performance measurably.
- Ability to run recurring events that engage users consistently and develop flagship formats that attract new members.
- Understanding of engagement metrics as a pathway to monetization, including active member statistics and retention rates.
- A genuine gaming background, either as a player or through professional experience in the gaming industry.
- Autonomy in a zero-to-one role without a predefined playbook.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience as a creator in games, video, or user-generated content.
- Deep knowledge of Discord mechanics, including roles, onboarding processes, and anti-spam measures.
- Experience balancing the needs of both creators and consumers.
- Collaboration with content creators or talent in the past.
Not a fit if:
- You have only maintained existing communities or grown one around an already popular topic.
- You have experience solely in crypto, web3, token, or trading communities.
- You post on brand channels without knowing the community members.
- You come from an agency or consultancy background only.
Logistics:
- Location: Remote until October 2026, then in-person in London. Relocation by October is a condition of the offer.
