TechTrace Partners are working with a specialist cyber security organisation to recruit a Cyber Security Engineering Team Manager to lead and coordinate a high-performing cyber engineering function operating within an operational cyber security environment. This is not a hands-on engineering role. This role focuses on leading the coordination and operational effectiveness of a high-performing engineering team, ensuring priorities remain clear, blockers are removed early, and delivery continues to run smoothly as the function grows.

The position combines team leadership, operational coordination, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement. Success in the role comes from being organised, proactive, commercially aware, and able to bring clarity to busy operational environments. You’ll play an important role in helping shape and scale the engineering function over time, supporting the continued growth and development of a high-performing team.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for helping the engineering function operate efficiently, collaboratively, and with clear delivery priorities across multiple ongoing workstreams. The role is centred around improving workflow, maintaining visibility across engineering activity, identifying operational risks early, and helping remove friction that impacts delivery performance. You’ll work closely with operational teams, leadership, onboarding functions, and engineering personnel to ensure activity remains aligned, organised, and moving effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating day-to-day activity across the engineering function
  • Managing priorities, workloads, delivery timelines, and operational workflow
  • Leading and supporting a high-performing engineering team
  • Identifying bottlenecks, operational risks, and delivery issues proactively
  • Driving practical solutions that improve team efficiency and delivery performance
  • Acting as the link between engineering, onboarding, operational teams, and leadership
  • Running standups, planning sessions, and workflow reviews
  • Improving visibility across engineering projects and delivery activity
  • Supporting smoother collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Helping introduce stronger operational structure, planning, and process improvement
  • Supporting the continued growth, organisation, and development of the engineering function over time

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience managing or coordinating cyber security technical, operational, or delivery-focused teams
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management capability
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities and fast-moving workloads
  • Someone proactive who naturally identifies issues early and drives solutions
  • Experience improving operational process, workflow, or delivery coordination
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams and maintain accountability positively
  • Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working within project, delivery, operations, or service-led environments
