TechTrace Partners are supporting a growing cyber security consultancy in the search for a Penetration Testing Consultant to join their Red Team function. This is a delivery-led role for an offensive security professional who enjoys complex technical work, direct client engagement, and delivering high-quality penetration testing engagements within a collaborative consultancy environment. The Role
You will deliver penetration testing engagements across networks, applications, and enterprise infrastructure environments. This role combines hands-on offensive security delivery with client engagement, reporting, and internal collaboration. The successful individual will be trusted to manage assessments independently, communicate clearly with clients, and contribute to consistently high-quality testing engagements. The environment is well suited to consultants who want continued exposure to varied technical challenges while developing broader offensive security capability over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Penetration Testing & Security Assessments
- Deliver penetration testing engagements across infrastructure, web applications, cloud, and enterprise environments
- Identify, exploit, and validate security vulnerabilities using modern offensive security tooling and methodologies
- Conduct security assessments across varied client environments with a focus on quality and technical depth
- Support complex and specialist testing engagements where required
- Client Engagement
- Work directly with clients to scope and define testing engagements
- Technical discussions during pre-engagement and delivery phases
- Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide practical remediation guidance and security recommendations
- Reporting & Communication
- Produce clear, detailed, client-facing reports outlining vulnerabilities, attack paths, business impact, and remediation priorities
- Deliver professional presentation of findings and risk context to clients
- Ensure reporting quality remains consistently high across engagements
- Research & Development
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, tooling, and attack techniques
- Contribute to the improvement of internal methodologies and testing approaches
- Support continuous improvement across offensive security capability

What They’re Looking For
- Around 2+ years of commercial penetration testing experience within consultancy or client-facing environments
- Experience delivering infrastructure and application security assessments
- Strong understanding of offensive security methodologies and modern attack techniques
- Comfortable managing client conversations and presenting technical findings
- Ability to operate independently across multiple engagements
- Strong reporting and communication capability
- Strong willingness to continue developing technically within a collaborative consultancy environment
