Omdia, part of Informa TechTarget, is seeking an experienced Principal Analyst to lead the Data Center Thermal Management, Power, and Cooling research. The role requires deep technical expertise in data center infrastructure, cooling technologies, and power systems to deliver authoritative market intelligence and strategic insights to our global client base. The successful candidate will lead comprehensive research coverage of the global data center UPS and thermal management market, including air cooling, liquid cooling, and hybrid cooling solutions, and will develop, maintain, and contribute to market forecasts, vendor competitive analysis, and market sizing models for power and cooling infrastructure. The role also involves presenting research at industry conferences, client briefings, webinars, providing expert commentary to media and industry publications, and delivering strategic consulting and advisory services for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and create high‑quality research reports, trackers, forecasts, and presentations; develop and test hypotheses to provide unique insight.
- Define and expand an area of research, market it to senior clients and prospects, and respond to market events with timely opinions.
- Build and maintain client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and supporting sales, marketing, product management, and PR teams.
- Participate in client‑facing meetings, adding credibility to Omdia and Informa TechTarget relationships.
- Offer insight to planning meetings and work closely with senior leadership to drive team strategy and develop customer‑based POVs for new products and services.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in the data center ecosystem, either as an analyst or within the ecosystem.
- Solid technical understanding of cooling technologies and power infrastructure in data centers.
- Quantitative research experience, able to build, maintain, and enhance market forecasts and trackers and present complex concepts compellingly.
- Excellent written communication skills, able to synthesize complex ideas.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, personable and confident presenting to senior executives.
- Ability to build and enhance a profile with industry contacts and opinion formers.
- Ability to quickly identify and communicate critical issues impacting the commercial performance of Omdia’s vendor clients.
- Experience working with sales and marketing teams to capitalize on business development opportunities.
- Track record of managing workload to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
