Founding Engineer (full-stack + AI)

We’re looking for an exceptional Founding Engineer to join us at a pivotal moment. We’ve just closed our funding round, our user base is growing fast (we’ve outgrown our MVP on Bubble), and we’re ready to rebuild everything- properly, full-stack.

ivee is a VC-backed tech startup building the category-defining platform for return-to-work journeys. Over 1.2 billion people will take a career break in their lifetime, and no one has cracked how to get them back into meaningful work at scale. We\’re changing that. This is a rare chance to build cutting-edge technology that helps people restart their careers, close the gender pay gap, and reshape a broken system. We’re an ambitious, fast-moving team with deep product conviction and technical curiosity- and we’re just getting started.

This is a ground-up build. You’ll shape the architecture, own the technical direction, and help define what great looks like in our product. We’re building agentic AI workflows in the backend to surface hidden talent, and a user interface that includes a community hub and learning hub. We already have 25k+ users, so your work building the technology will already help thousands of women successfully return to work- and we\’re just getting started.

You’ll be joining a small, mission-driven, high-ownership team working out of Balderton’s Launched office in King’s Cross (but we\’re open to remote). What You’ll Do

• Build the future of our platform from scratch- this is greenfield work
• Help define our data architecture (unstructured + structured), real-time capabilities, and decide when/where to apply AI workflows.
• Set up and own our early DevOps stack- CI/CD, infra, and monitoring- balancing speed with stability
• Architect, ship, and scale high-quality software using modern tech.
• Work closely with early users and iterate quickly based on real feedback.
• You’ll have autonomy to choose the stack- likely TypeScript (React, Node), Python (LangChain), and Postgres- but we’re flexible.
• Implement and experiment with agentic AI workflows (Langchain or similar)
• Collaborate closely with the co-founders to help us define technical culture, hiring bar, and scale a world-class engineering team
• Contribute to a product that’s making a real-world impact at scale

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…

• Are a passionate builder who thrives in early-stage chaos and creativity
• Have strong experience in systems design, backend unstructured data and agentic workflows, and frontend react or similar for a slick UX
• Are familiar with- or excited to learn- agentic AI frameworks
• Have shipped real software in product-focused or cloud-native environments, preferably end-to-end builds
• Have experience working in startup teams, going from 0-1 in terms of product and team
• Want to see your work make a measurable, positive difference
• Love autonomy and are ready to take ownership
