A highly respected, product-led software company is hiring a UX-focused Product Designer to take ownership of user experience across complex, data-heavy product areas. This is not a brand, marketing, or visual-polish role. You’ll be designing for power users, elite SW Engineers and technical teams who work daily inside dense, mission-critical interfaces. These products sit at the heart of real production systems, where clarity, efficiency, and correctness matter more than surface-level aesthetics.

If you enjoy hard problems, systems thinking, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with SW Engineers, this role will suit you.

Who this role is for

  • Product Designer (Complex Systems / B2B)
  • UX Designer for developer tools or technical platforms
  • Interaction Designer working on dense, state-heavy interfaces
  • Design Technologist or UX Engineer (design-leaning)
  • Systems-minded Designer who enjoys complexity rather than hiding it

If your background is primarily brand, marketing websites, or purely visual design, this is unlikely to be a good fit.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning UX design for complex, data-intensive product areas
  • Understanding real user workflows, mental models, and constraints in production environments
  • Designing interaction models, workflows, and behaviours — not just screens
  • Producing practical design artefacts: wireframes, interaction specs, prototypes, and documentation
  • Working closely with engineers to ensure designs are feasible, performant, and implemented correctly
  • Iterating designs based on user research, usability testing, and real usage data
  • Helping define and evolve UX standards and design language across the product
  • Occasionally contributing small frontend changes (React-based) to close the loop between design and delivery
  • Supporting user research to uncover genuine customer pain points and opportunities

What you’ll need

  • Solid experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or Interaction Designer on complex software products
  • Proven ability to design for power users and data-heavy workflows
  • Strong grounding in interaction design, usability principles, and information architecture
  • Experience planning and running user research and usability testing
  • Technical fluency, including:
  • Ability to inspect DOM, layout, and interaction behaviour
  • Comfortable collaborating with engineers and reading frontend code
  • Working comfortably with Git
  • Strong judgement, knowing when to simplify, when to expose power, and when not to hide complexity
  • What’s in it for you

    • Shape interaction models used inside thousands of real production systems
    • High autonomy and ownership over meaningful product areas
    • Close collaboration with experienced engineers who care about quality
    • Minimal process, low ceremony, and no design theatre
    • A product where UX decisions have long-term impact at serious scale
    • Competitive salary, strong benefits, and a flexible hybrid working model
