Contract recruitment moves fast — deals close quicker, relationships compound, and the earning potential is unmatched. If you're someone who thrives on pace and wants to build something with genuine momentum, this is where you want to be.
We're hiring now and want the right people on board before the year is out.
What's in it for you?
- Commission up to 40% — no threshold, no waiting around to earn
- The contract market moves fast, which means your billings can too
- 1-on-1 coaching from leaders who are actually doing it at the top level
- Two trips a year for hitting target — ski season and a summer getaway
- Hybrid working out of brand-new city-centre offices (Monument)
- Monthly lunch clubs at some of London's best restaurants
- Early finish every Friday
- A genuine path into management as the business scales
- Future opportunity to relocate to the US as Tech Shack grows internationally
- A team that stays — our retention rate speaks for itself
What the role actually looks like:
- Proactively headhunting contractors via LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and your growing network
- Having real conversations with candidates — understanding their work history, motivations, and what their ideal next engagement looks like
- Managing contract extensions, renewals, and new placements — keeping your desk active and your relationships warm
- Developing client relationships and advising on contract market rates, availability, and hiring strategy
- Running lean, efficient processes — from first contact to signed contract
- Writing sharp job adverts that actually attract the right people
- Getting out there — events, meetups, and community presence in your chosen tech vertical
- Keeping your pipeline organised in the CRM so nothing slips through the cracks
- Becoming a genuine specialist in your space (Software Engineering, DevOps, Data/AI or similar)
What we're looking for:
- Someone hungry — you want to be successful and you're willing to put the work in to get there
- Naturally competitive, with a track record of pushing yourself (sport, academics, side hustles — we want to hear it)
- Confident and articulate — you can hold a conversation with a senior engineering leader or a contractor on the bench
- Resilient — contract recruitment has its ups and downs and you take setbacks as motivation, not discouragement
- Organised and self-directed — you manage your own desk, your own pipeline, your own time
- Degree educated preferred (2:1, top 30 university) but we care more about the person than the paper
Apply now and one of the team will be in touch if we think you're a strong fit for what we're building at Tech Shack.
Please note: this is a permanent, full-time role at Tech Shack. You will be recruiting candidates for contract positions. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship — candidates must have full, indefinite right to work in the UK.
