We are now recruiting for the position of Metal Work CNC Laser Cutting Operator.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain CNC machinery to produce components, ensuring all parts are cut in accordance with approved specifications and engineering drawings.
- Input design specifications and production requirements into CNC machinery to facilitate the cutting process.
- Monitor CNC machine operations to verify the accuracy of machine settings and identify any faults or malfunctions.
- Follow a pre-agreed QA process that aligns with the CE accreditation requirements of precast component manufacture.
- Maintain knowledge of the cleaning and maintenance programme to ensure machinery remains in a clean, safe and fully operational condition at all times.
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Read and interpret component fabrication drawings presented in both 2D and 3D formats.
- Identify and address any defects or imperfections in manufactured components.
- Complete daily health and safety compliance check sheets.
- Complete reports and production logs for finished products using an i Pad or computer.
- Read and use measuring devices, tape measures and similar equipment, ensuring they are calibrated regularly.
- Ensure the correct use of supplied Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision once materials, tools and drawings have been provided.
- Carry out routine maintenance on CNC machinery and associated equipment to ensure safe and continuous operation.
- Assist with cross-training colleagues to support planned and unplanned absences, with external training provided where required.
- Work with the management of materials, including communicating stock levels and identifying requirements for consumables, replacement parts and filters.
- Provide feedback to the design department regarding manufacturing capabilities and achievable production parameters.
Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with CNC programming and machine operation.
- Current CSCS card for UK site work is desirable.
- Current Abrasive Wheels training certification.
- Experience and certification in the operation of a 2-tonne overhead crane is desirable.
- Minimum of 2-3 years' CNC operating experience.
- Manual Handling certification is desirable, although training can be provided.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings to a high standard.
- Valid First Aid qualification is desirable.
- Valid Forklift Truck licence is desirable.
- Fluent English language skills and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of basic mathematics and measurement principles.
- Strong work ethic with enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures, policies and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Strong communication and team-working abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
