The Role
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service.
You will act as the key point of contact between Tech Point and its customers, ensuring smooth project execution and long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Account Management & Customer Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers, developing strong relationships to drive long-term business success.
- Ensure customer requirements, expectations, and technical needs are effectively communicated to internal teams.
- Conduct regular customer meetings (both on-site and remote) to review performance, discuss ongoing projects, and explore new opportunities.
- 2. Business Development & Growth
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities within existing accounts and work with external Sales Team to develop new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for business expansion.
- Lead contract renewals, pricing negotiations, and proposal development to maximise revenue.
- 3. Project & Order Management
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure smooth execution of customer projects.
- Monitor order progress, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any issues proactively.
- Support customers with technical queries, liaising with internal experts where necessary.
- 4. Market & Industry Intelligence
- Stay updated on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights.
- Represent Tech Point at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility.
- 5. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and project statuses using CRM tools.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on account performance and sales forecasts.
About you
- Key Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in Electronics Manufacturing (EMS) or related industries (e. g., PCB assembly, contract manufacturing).
- Strong account management and business development skills, with a proven track record of growing customer accounts.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to engage with technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A results-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Willingness to travel across the South of England for customer meetings.
Desirable
- Technical background in electronics, PCB assembly, or manufacturing would be a plus.
- Experience in working with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
