The Event Operations Manager will be an experienced and dynamic individual responsible for the end-to-end operational delivery of complex, international B2B conferences and exhibitions. This includes full logistical planning, supplier management, budget accountability, and on-site execution, ensuring successful customer experiences and profitable, high-quality events.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of allocated events of varying size, format, and complexity across a range of geographies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, critical timelines, floorplans and operational documents.
  • Manage all logistical elements: venue sourcing, supplier sourcing, negotiating and contracting, build, health & safety, risk assessments, security, signage, catering, AV/production, accommodation, onsite staffing and event technology.
  • Ensure all events comply with relevant health, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Prepare operational documents, schedules and internal briefing PPTs.
  • Work with sales team to create packages that are innovative, profitable and deliver strong ROI.
  • Provide clear operational instructions to exhibitors, sponsors and partners.
  • Manage sponsor fulfilment, ensuring all contracted deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, production, customer service, finance) to ensure full alignment.
  • Act as the operational lead on site for your allocated projects, ensuring smooth delivery and real-time issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with venues, suppliers and internal teams, to execute build, signage placement, exhibitor and sponsor operations and event delivery as per schedule.
  • Prepare and manage event budgets and forecasts, including cost control, variance tracking, invoice processing, supplier procurement, and achieving target profit margins.
  • Produce comprehensive post-event reports analysing successes, challenges, attendee feedback and opportunities for improvement.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • Proven experience of delivering international, large scale and complex exhibitions (70+ stands), events and awards in the B2B or B2C space.
  • Demonstrable operational and budget ownership for events £500k+.
  • Excellent multitasking, project management and prioritisation skills, managing multiple events concurrently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, exceptional attention to detail, and ability to adapt style for different audiences.
  • Strong negotiation and contract-management skills for high-value supplier contracts (£100k+).
  • Proactive problem-solving, with ability to innovate and improve processes.
  • Proven experience managing compliance and implementing risk policies for international events and large-scale exhibitions while maintaining a high-quality customer experience.
  • Self-management i.e., taking accountability and ownership of tasks.
  • No obstacles to international travel.
  • Right to work in the UK without need for visa sponsorship.
Desirable
  • Experience of using and working with event technology, including Salesforce, CVENT, NetSuite, networking apps.
