Senior Software Developer - Golang

Role: Senior Software Developer – Golang experience required

Salary: Up to £90,000 – DOE

Location: United Kingdom – Remote

TechOhana have partnered with a global Saas business who are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong Golang experience to join their flourishing Platform Engineering team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in the full software lifecycle. From shaping requirements and designing scalable systems, through to implementation, testing, and release.

While much of their platform is built on backend Java services, Golang plays a key role in their microservices ecosystem, and you’ll work closely with engineers across desktop, mobile, web, and business systems to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building Java & Golang microservice APIs that scale securely
• Owning technical decisions for both small features and large platform initiatives
• Balancing performance, scalability, data consistency, and security trade-offs
• Collaborating with multiple engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Driving projects from design through to release candidates and production
• Reviewing code, pairing with teammates, and raising engineering standards
• Producing clear documentation to explain system design and usage
• Communicating technical concepts and constraints clearly to stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience building Java microservices
• Hands-on Golang experience in production environments
• Solid understanding of scalable cloud architectures
• Experience working in Test-Driven Development (TDD) environments
• Good grasp of OO principles, UML, and architectural decision-making
• Understanding of build, release, and deployment pipelines
• A keen eye for detail and pride in writing clean, maintainable code
• Confidence giving and receiving constructive technical feedback
• Excellent communication skills — technical and non-technical
