Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to provide architectural leadership within Agile Scrum teams delivering enterprise-scale solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role focuses on translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions aligned with Salesforce best practices. Working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and key stakeholders, you will shape solution design, guide technical delivery, and ensure optimal use of Salesforce capabilities. You will champion the “art of the possible” within Salesforce, prioritising out-of-the-box functionality while ensuring seamless integration across the wider enterprise ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Agile Delivery
    • Act as the primary technical design authority within Scrum teams
    • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and solution design discussions
    • Assess technical feasibility, define user stories, and identify risks and dependencies
    • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure alignment with architecture and best practices
  • Solution Design & Technical Leadership
    • Design scalable solutions across Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, and the Salesforce Platform
    • Define architecture patterns for data models, automation (Flow vs Apex), integrations, and security
    • Provide hands‑on technical guidance to developers, admins, and integration teams
    • Produce architecture artefacts including solution diagrams, data models, and integration flows
  • Platform Expertise
    • Advise teams on Salesforce capabilities and best practices
    • Promote declarative, out‑of‑the‑box solutions over custom development where appropriate
    • Guide the use of Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Platform Events, and APIs
    • Ensure compliance with platform limits, performance standards, and governance
  • Integration & Ecosystem Alignment
    • Define and validate integration patterns using REST/SOAP APIs, events, and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft)
    • Ensure robust data flows, ownership models, and system interoperability
    • Align Salesforce solutions with enterprise architecture standards
  • Governance & Quality Assurance
    • Conduct design reviews to ensure scalability, maintainability, and security
    • Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the delivery lifecycle
    • Maintain high standards of documentation, testing, and overall technical quality
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders
    • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
    • Provide balanced recommendations considering business value, technical feasibility, and sustainability

Required Skills & Experience

  • Salesforce Expertise
    • Strong knowledge of Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, and the Salesforce Platform
    • Hands‑on experience with Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, and data modelling
    • Proven ability to design solutions within Salesforce governor limits
  • Integration & Architecture
    • Experience with API‑led and event‑driven architectures
    • Strong understanding of REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft)
    • Solid knowledge of Salesforce data architecture
  • Agile Delivery
    • Experience working in Agile Scrum environments
    • Strong involvement in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story definition
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Leadership & Communication
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Ability to influence technical decisions without direct authority
    • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities

Desirable Qualifications

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
  • Additional certifications such as Platform Developer, Integration Architecture Designer, or Data Architecture Designer
  • Experience delivering complex Salesforce transformations or multi‑system integrations

Success Criteria

  • Delivery of scalable, secure, and high‑quality Salesforce solutions
  • Strong alignment with Salesforce best practices and enterprise architecture
  • Effective collaboration across product, engineering, and architecture teams
