Role Summary
The ServiceNow Technical Architect is a key leadership role responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing ServiceNow solutions. This position involves collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into architectural blueprints that drive efficiency, innovation, and platform excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of complex ServiceNow solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, best practices, and strategic objectives.
- Develop both high-level and low-level technical designs, providing architectural guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Define and maintain the strategic roadmap for the ServiceNow platform, identifying opportunities for leveraging out-of-the-box features, integrations, and innovative customizations.
- Technical Advisory & Governance
- Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to clients and internal teams on platform capabilities, performance, scalability, and security.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure technical consistency, integrity, and adherence to platform best practices.
- Requirements Analysis & Solution Design
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture and analyze requirements, translating them into robust architectural solutions and detailed design documents.
- Cross-Module Expertise
- Provide architectural guidance across multiple ServiceNow modules, including:
- Integrated Risk Management (IRM): Policy Management, Compliance & Audit Management, Vendor Risk Management, Business Continuity Management.
- Security Operations (SecOps): Vulnerability Response, Security Incident Response, and Security Dashboards.
- IT Service Management (ITSM).
- IT Operations Management (ITOM).
- Customer Service Management (CSM).
- Integration Design
- Architect and oversee the implementation of complex integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and MID Server technologies.
- Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Provide technical direction to development teams, ensuring compliance with design patterns, coding standards, and performance guidelines.
- Conduct code reviews, ensure solution quality, and oversee technical delivery milestones.
- Prototyping & Demonstrations
- Lead the creation of technical prototypes and conduct platform demonstrations to validate design concepts and illustrate capabilities to stakeholders.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring ServiceNow applications meet scalability and performance standards.
- Advanced Scripting & Development
- Guide agile teams from a technical perspective, ensuring alignment of user stories and development activities with overall architectural goals.
- Platform Evolution
- Stay up to date with the latest ServiceNow features, releases, and industry trends, applying new capabilities to optimize architectural designs and enhance client solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience as a ServiceNow Technical Architect or in a similar leadership role.
- Proven success in designing and delivering large-scale ServiceNow implementations across multiple modules.
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data model, and security framework.
- Expertise in platform governance, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Hands-on experience with complex integrations and enterprise-wide deployments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments and leading technical teams.
- Relevant ServiceNow certifications such as:
- Certified Master Architect (CMA)
- Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
- Certified System Administrator (CSA)

- ServiceNow GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance)
- ServiceNow SecOps (Security Operations)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related discipline (B.E/B.Tech, BCA/MCA).
- ServiceNow Certified Consultant credential preferred.
