The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a growing UK consultancy seeking a Junior Credit Risk Modelling Consultant to join its graduate programme. This is an excellent opportunity for a quantitatively strong graduate looking to begin a career in credit risk, data and financial modelling. You’ll work alongside experienced consultants on live projects for UK lenders, with exposure to real client work from the outset. Previous credit risk experience is not required. Full support will be provided to develop your knowledge of areas including IFRS 9, IRB and credit risk modelling.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing, cleaning and analysing modelling datasets
- Using Python to support quantitative analysis and model development
- Supporting model estimation, calibration and back-testing
- Working with credit risk models including IFRS 9, IRB and scorecards
- Producing analysis, tables and visualisations for client projects
- Supporting model documentation and validation reports
- Learning to query and analyse data using SQL
- Participating in client meetings and project discussions
- Gaining wider exposure to data engineering, machine learning and applied AI
What We’re Looking For
- 0–1 year of professional experience – final-year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- BSc or MSc in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Econometrics, Engineering or Computer Science
- Strong academic record, typically 2:1 or above
- Practical Python experience
- Good understanding of statistics, probability and quantitative analysis
- Experience working with and analysing datasets
- Evidence of completing a substantial quantitative project, dissertation, internship or placement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine interest in credit risk, lending and financial services
- Able to work from the Central London office 5 days per week
- Experience with pandas, scikit-learn, SQL, Git, R, SAS, financial services or credit risk would be beneficial but is not essential.
